Summary:
CMS school psychologists support students’ learning, social development, and mental and behavioral health using problem solving, assessment, data-based decision-making, and the delivery of evidenced-based interventions. School psychologists collaborate and consult with educators, families, and other professionals to help create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments for all students.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Consults with teachers and administrators regarding specific students and/or groups of students.
  • Works with various school teams to support multi-tiered systems of support for all students within their assigned schools.
  • Interprets and utilizes data for the purpose of developing appropriate intervention plans for struggling learners within their schools.
  • Conducts comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations that include but are not limited to the assessment of intellectual, developmental, academic, social/emotional and behavioral status.
  • Conducts assessments and collects data by use of informal and non-standardized evaluation techniques.
  • Counsels students individually and in small groups.
  • Provides crisis intervention support for individual students and school communities when needed.
  • Provides training for school staff members and parents on a wide variety of topics that impact student learning in school, including but not limited to child development and effective parenting practices.
  • Assists parents in locating available educational and mental health resources in the community.
  • Assists with school-wide initiatives to enhance students’ social-emotional and leadership skills.

Job Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree and Education Specialist's Degree in School Psychology
  • 6th year degree in School Psychology
  • School Psychologist License
