Service Engineer (Tues-Sat Swing Shift) (2044)

Job Description


 Shift for this Service Engineer Role is Tues-Sat: 2:00-10:30 p.m.

Will consider and hire for Service Engineer I or Higher, Depending on Candidate/Applicant Credentials 

(Overview, Education & Experience Qualifications noted; some elements of the Job Description differ with Service Engineer levels and will be provided)

Overview:  
The Service Engineer I performs preventive maintenance, minor repairs and limited troubleshooting on laboratory equipment
The Service Engineer II performs preventive maintenance, minor repairs and troubleshooting of laboratory automation systems and equipment.
The Service Engineer III performs preventive maintenance, major repairs and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory automation systems and equipment.
The Service Engineer IV performs major repairs and advanced troubleshooting, training, and mentoring of Service Engineers on laboratory automation systems and equipment.

Responsibilities:
Preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Routine repair of laboratory equipment.
Equipment relocation and re-installations.
On call support for critical help tickets for production equipment.
Assist in troubleshooting with higher level service engineers.
Complete required training to fulfill regulatory requirements and support of instrumentation.

Qualifications:
Level I Education & Experience:  Bachelors or Associates Degree in Engineering, Biology, Computer science or related degree & 0-2 years of related experience OR High School Diploma/GED Equivalent and 0-2 years related experience.
Level II Education & Experience: Bachelors or Associates Degree in Engineering, Biology, Computer science or related degree; 2-4 years experience with Myriad Lab Processes or related field; 1-3 years pertinent mechanical experience.
Level III Education & Experience: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Biology, Computer Science or related degree OR High School Diploma and 4-6 years of related experience with Myriad lab processes or related field; 1-3 years pertinent mechanical experience.
Level IV Education & Experience:  Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Biology, Computer science or related degree OR High School Diploma and 6+ years of related experience experience with Myriad lab processes or related field; 5+ years pertinent experience.
Hands on experience with mechanical tools and instrumentation.
Preferred: some demonstrated working understanding of or background in science.
Understanding of servo motors, electronics, pneumatics and pumps.
Understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to seek out information and expertise within a close group as well as independently is required.
Lifting Requirements
Lifting Requirements - medium work or exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force consistently.
