The Engineering Intern will support Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) activities in a fast-paced 24x7 GaAs Fab.  In this role, you will work with Process and FDC system experts to improve detection of Process and Equipment excursions. This requires an intern with interest in semiconductor processing, software development, statistics, or quality control systems. This is a unique opportunity to learn multiple semiconductor manufacturing processes all at once (etch, lithography, deposition). The intern will work along process and equipment engineering to detect and prevent scrap events.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure FDC system access for all factory personnel
  • Assist Process Engineers in development of OCAPs in response to detected faults
  • Compare FDC statistical process reports to current established processes to identify gaps in procedures
  • Support Process Engineering in continuous improvement and selection of FDC parameters and optimization of specs for each parameter

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a BS/MS Engineering program or in a related technical field
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical tools
  • Basic understanding of device fabrication process steps
  • Ability to work well with individuals in the engineering community
