Social Justice Fellow

Are you a young leader 21-32 intrigued by the idea of devoting a year of your life to creating change in the world, and in yourself?

We invite you to consider a year with Episcopal Service Corps (ESC).

ESC is a network of local programs offering fellowship and leadership development opportunities that match young leaders with mission-based non-profit organizations, schools, and churches.

A year with ESC provides an opportunity for Corps members to gain hands on experience by serving in a non-profit organization, create life-long relationships by living in intentional community, and grow by exploring ancient and modern spiritual practices.

Corps members serve full-time in their own site placement and commit to ongoing leadership training, spiritual practice and reflection with the other fellows in the program. Corps members also live in community, sharing regular meals and time for spiritual practice together.

Corps members
Service. Prayer. Justice. Vocation. Community. Leadership.

These are the core values that shape and inform every aspect of an ESC year. It’s these values that set us apart from other post-graduate options. And it’s these values that drive our Corps to engage the transformative power of ESC.

Corps members serve through ESC for a variety of reasons. Some are looking to start a career in nonprofits. Others are interested in an experiential gap-year before applying to graduate school or have a deep desire to live more intentionally in community.

Corps members are selected from a pool of applicants from a diverse range of racial, economic, geographic, and religious backgrounds. Something every deployed Corps member has in common: a demonstrated deep commitment to social justice.

Corps member benefits include a living stipend, food stipend, health coverage, housing, transportation, and extensive leadership training. Programs across the Episcopal Service Corps network are now recruiting applicants for the 2022-2023 #ServiceYear, which begins summer 2022.
