Local Sales Manager

NewsWest 9 (KWES-TV NBC) Odessa-Midland is searching for its next Local Sales Manager who is willing to contribute their knowledge and success to our team to help improve and propel our organization. This opportunity is for a person who understands and embraces the current and future environment of marketing on digital and broadcast platforms. Responsibilities:
  • Drive new business development efforts to increase new enterprise accounts assuring sales team exceeds all sales revenue goals.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train and develop new sales hires; effectively manage, develop and motivate existing sales team
  • Develop strong relationships with local and regional advertisers
  • Manage key local and regional accounts and account executives
  • Identify market potential though lead generation and qualification
  • Accurately identify, monitor and forecast sales and marketing trends for key business segments
  • Complete appropriate business activity reports and forecasts as required
  • Review and adjust metrics to monitor sales/market share change
  • Expand sales in existing accounts by introducing new products and services and developing new client solutions
  • Achieve sales operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to overall strategic plan
  • Assess sales team in different situations; provide timely/relevant coaching and conduct/recommend appropriate training
  • Support sales staff with ride along coaching, participating in client meetings, developing proposals and other aspects the full sales process
  • Recommends creative ideas that improve the company’s competitive position and the bottom line
  • Develops creative and effective customer focused solutions using all media platforms
Job requirements
  • Media sales experience with demonstrated track record of success
  • Knowledge of all facets of digital sales and marketing
  • Proven sales leader with record of sales achievement
  • Ability to think and lead strategically
  • Effective driver of integrated revenue and strategy
  • Ability to prioritize critical functions to ensure individual and team success
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
