Instruction and Curriculum Design Specialist (Analyst II)-Limited Duration
The Portland Police Bureau is seeking an Instruction and Curriculum Design Specialist to join their team. This position will report directly to the Training Division Captain or future Academic Director. The incumbent will work with sworn and professional staff trainers to develop lesson plans and curricula, which weave training concepts across law enforcement programs.
What you’ll get to do:
- Identify appropriate curricula through gap analysis and in collaboration with the training evaluation team.
- Develop lesson plans with clear learning objectives based on best practices in adult learning.
- Design curricula and instructional materials that encourage multiple styles of learning.
- Utilize technology to support classroom presentations and maximize student learning.
- Review and provide edits to other trainers’ lesson plans.
- Apply data from evaluation analysts to modify training content.
