Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Geotechnical Office at Headquarters in Tumwater, WA is currently seeking Transportation Technician 3 (In-Training) to assist the driller and drilling inspector in advancing geotechnical borings, perform in situ testing, and installing instrumentation in the borings. Ultimately this position works as a skilled journey level technician performing geotechnical field exploration testing and sampling according to ASTM and WSDOT test methods for the Geotechnical office on a statewide basis. To be successful in this position, we are looking for an individual who can work independently but also in a team environment. We are looking for an individual with outstanding attention to detail and that fully understands engineering practices and principles.
