Economic Affairs Assistant - Intern

This position will provide support to the Department of Economic Affairs of the Québec Government Office in its mission to promote the economic interests of Québec in the Western United States. The successful candidate will assist the trade attaché in charge of aerospace, clean technologies, and ICT, and will provide support in other sectors, as needed, such as consumer goods or agrifood.

Job Duties:
Under the supervision of the Director of Business Development and the Trade Attaché for aerospace and cleantech, the intern will be, among others:
  • Identifying decision makers/buyers/OEMs in the sectors of aviation, urban air mobility, space and defense in the territory to position Québec suppliers
  • Identifying American companies that deal with carbon neutrality or carbon emission reduction (ex: data centers, universities, airlines), and cities with their headquarters that are covered in the Silicon Valley territory
  • Providing support in the organization and hosting of Québec delegations in the territory (ex: CES), such as helping with logistics, program of meetings, and outreach
  • Monitoring RFPs/pre-RFPs presenting opportunities for Québec green technologies
  • Assisting the trade attachés as they provide support to Québec companies, such as establishing lists of companies and contacts related to their target markets
  • As for the additional sectors, the intern will cover various tasks including some market research, target identifications and opportunities, contact research, etc.

Job Requirements:
  • Undergraduate, Bachelor's degree holder or higher degree in political science, international studies, international relations, communications, or a field related to the internship mandate
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Interest in international relations
  • Excellent research, written and verbal communication skills
  • Rigorous and organized in the management of projects and information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

Preferred:
Fluency in French, both written and spoken.
