Volunteer Engagement Intern (Rocket Community Fund) – Summer 2022

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word 
 
Job Summary 
Interns at the Rock Family of Companies gain priceless hands-on experience. Here, they learn how it feels to be in the workplace, participate in events and become a valuable member of our team. 
 
Responsibilities 
  • Assist Volunteer Engagement team in the creation of volunteer opportunities on the Community Hub
  • Coordinate transportation, catering, security, facilities, etc. as needed for events
  • Manage, maintain, and organize volunteer and giving projects and program supplies
  • Assist Volunteer Engagement team with the day of internal education program logistics, including communication with team members, nonprofit partners, Facilities teams, etc. throughout the program
  • Assist Program Manager of Giving in the coordination of Rock Family of Companies Community Challenge, including communication with nonprofit partners, team members, etc. throughout the campaign
  • Serve as on-site contact for various in-person volunteer opportunities
  • Check-in team members and provide direction
  • Administrative assistance including research and reports on new and existing nonprofit organizations, scheduling meetings, and miscellaneous duties as assigned

The Community Sponsorship team creates and supports catalytic events in Detroit to build community, promote local culture and contribute to Detroit's economic growth.
