Automation Engineer II

We are looking for someone who has the skills to be an Automation Engineer 2 to join our dedicated and knowledgeable team. The Automation Engineer 2 is responsible for supporting existing automation systems while having the ability to design, fabricate and implement new solutions. This person will also utilize a systematic approach to diagnose and resolve controls and automation issues. The successful candidate must have attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems and have a commitment to continuous improvement.

What’s required?
  • Minimum: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor of Science degree in STEM preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with Solidworks or similar fixture/tool design
  • Strong experience with control systems, automation and PLC/HMI programming
  • Ability to diagnose root cause and fix electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Experience with injection molding equipment preferred
  • Experience programming and integrating 6-axis robotics preferred
  • Ability to work with hand/power tools and machining

  • Subject matter expert in controls and automation systems.
  • Supports the operations team to maximize production up-time. Works quickly to respond to line down issues.
  • Collaborates with external partners to design, integrate, and validate automation improvements and new solutions.
  • Designs, fabricates, modifies and implements automation solutions.
  • Prioritizes, maintains, tracks, and modifies project plans and timelines.
  • Champions continuous improvement projects. Looks for areas where we can improve and drives them to closure.
  • Supports the creation of all documentation and training associated with assigned projects. Develops detailed work instructions to train technicians and operators.
  • Supports the development of preventative maintenance schedules for operations and maintenance teams.
