Office Assistant - Online Applicants only - No walk ins
Pay Rate: $11.00 per hour
Scheduled Hours:
This student assistant position is scheduled between 15 to 20 hours per week Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Scheduled shifts are dependent on the operational needs of the department and the student’s availability.
Integrated Graphics Services provides the UNLV community with a variety of printed materials. The student worker for this department provides prompt, accurate, courteous support to both the office staff with the daily operations, and the campus community with project deliverables.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The main purpose of this position is to assist the department accounting office. However this position will also:
Greet and assist customers and guests
Keep the front office clean and organized
Answer telephones and return customer inquiry calls
Distribute mail
Answer basic informational questions by phone and in-person
Data entry
Maintain a supply of stock forms available for purchase by other campus departments
Assist full time administrative staff and project managers with tasks as needed
Assist with inventory or other projects in the warehouse as needed
Working Conditions:
Sitting at a computer screen, physically lifting and moving materials weighing up to 25 pounds, bending and stretching, and moving about to run on-campus errands both indoors and outside.
Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
Proficient in Excel - this is a must!
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions
Perform independently and able to remain flexible when changes are needed
Act in a professional manner and dress appropriately for a business office environment
