Spring 2022 Design and Media Internship (Wilson Center Canada Institute)

Are you ready to join us at the forefront of U.S.-Canadian relations? The Canada Institute is looking for a design and media intern to assist with the promotion of programmatic initiatives. This internship is designed to provide the individuals selected with the opportunity for practical experience in an environment that successfully mixes academic study with public policy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the Canada Institute’s social media accounts and scheduling posts to ensure a steady stream of content;
  • Tracking the work of staff, fellows, and scholars to ensure that new publications and articles are receiving appropriate coverage;
  • Designing promotional images and videos on social media for new content, including written pieces, podcast episodes, and events;
  • Reviewing post performance indicators on a monthly basis to devise social media strategies.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A demonstrated interest in the spectrum of issues that constitute the U.S.-Canadian relationship;
  • Ability to work independently and with limited oversight in a virtual work environment;
  • Graphic design skills using Photoshop, Canva, Piktochart, or similar programs;
  • Experience managing social media accounts for professional organizations with a large audience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong language ability in English.

This is a virtual, paid internship opportunity that requires a time commitment of 15-20 hours/week. Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program throughout the course of the internship.
