Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking one or more entry to junior level software engineers to become a permanent part of our team, working with a full stack, agile approach on the next generation of satellite ground systems to support our country.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or graduate-level degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Demonstrable understanding of object-oriented software design patterns and SOLID principles
- Demonstrable understanding of common software development tools and practices, including:
- Integrated development environments (IDEs)
- Source control and version control strategies
- Testing strategies, unit testing, and code testability
- Comfortable in both Linux and Windows environments
- Experience with C# (preferred), JavaScript/TypeScript, and/or Java development
- Good analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
- Proof of Covid-19 vaccination upon date of hire
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- software architecture
- distributed systems design
- “full stack” development
- system automation
- APIs, algorithms
- real-time processing
- signal processing
- data visualization
- database design
- web UI/UX design
- hardware drivers
- fault tolerance
- AI/machine learning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of distributed systems, messaging frameworks, and communications protocols
- Experience with UML and the ability to communicate and refine designs through UML
- Understanding of software containers, scaling, and/or cloud technologies
- Understanding of cybersecurity threats and mitigation techniques
- Experience with Atlassian management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)
- Willingness to learn new programming languages and development environments as needs arise – SQL, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, C++, Java, and others may show up on a situational basis
- Personal interest in space, space exploration, and space technologies
- Active Top Secret security clearance
