Cybersecurity Analyst, Entry Level

Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a highly motivated professional to join its cybersecurity team. The successful candidate will work in a technically diverse and dynamic environment with a team of IT security professionals responsible for all aspects of the IT environment supporting the needs of the business. The successful candidate will be involved in multiple aspects of supporting and managing the cybersecurity program.

Some of the duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Support of local site cybersecurity services
  • Develop and deploy cybersecurity awareness and training content/exercises
  • Perform routine cyber security assessments
  • Review and edit and/or author technical correspondence
  • Appropriately represent cybersecurity on cross-functional IT project teams
  • Support development of security policy and requirements

Required Skills *

Associate:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university

Intermediate:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years relevant experience; or
  • Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year relevant experience 

Preferred Skills

  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Someone who has a strong work ethic, is motivated, and action oriented
  • Experience applying IT security principles
  • Prior experience working in a collaborative environment
  • Prior experience with assessing information systems for cyber security vulnerabilities
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with Government security regulations and standards such as FISMA, FIPS, and NIST
