Test Engineer

As a test engineer, you will play a primary role in the testing and support of hardware and software used onboard Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. Some of your assigned tasks will include: 
  • Creating and executing detailed test plans for new and updated hardware and software 
  • Identifying and documenting defects encountered while testing 
  • Troubleshooting defects to determine root cause 
  • Publishing test reports and assisting in the update of technical manuals 
  • Automating current and new test plans

Required Skills *

Based on your previous experience, you will be hired at one of the following: 
 
Intermediate Test Engineer: 
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience; or 
MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one (1) year relevant experience. 
 
Advanced Test Engineer: 
BS degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two (4) years relevant experience; or 
MS degree in engineering or Master's degree in a science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one (2) year relevant experience. 

Preferred Skills
  1. Experience in developing automated tests. 
  2. Expertise in writing thorough test plans and concise test reports. 
  3. Expertise in software engineering practices and software lifecycle models. 
  4. Experience with Dev/Ops environments and Continuous Integration strategies.
