Summer College Intern - Gas Infrastructure - Accounting
Position Specific Description
The NextEra Energy Gas Infrastructure team is currently looking for eager Accounting students for the summer of 2022. These opportunities will provide relevant career-related activities encountered in Accounting.
This Accounting Internship offers students the opportunity to be provided mentoring and practical hands-on experience in a hands-on environment, as well as the ability to work on active NextEra projects. In addition to attending/participating in corporate and business unit specific events where interns will gain unprecedented access to interact with senior leadership from across the company, accounting interns will also gain experience in one or more of the following:
- Operational accounting (Production, A/P, JIB, & Revenue)
- Financial reporting
- Accounting policy as it pertains to the oil and gas industry
- Supporting month-end closing activities
Job Overview
To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists department with assigned projects
- Completes challenging projects and assignments
- Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
- Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school grad / GED
- Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
- Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
