Legislative Assistant

A boutique law firm is seeking a Legislative Assistant to join their office in Washington, DC on a contract to hire basis. The successful candidate will provide extensive administrative support to the public policy practice of the firm. The Assistant will be responsible for scheduling meetings on the Hill, managing the attorneys’ calendars, editing/drafting memos and other documents, billing, expenses, tracking/entering time and other administrative tasks as needed. The successful candidate will have the capability of picking up new tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment, professional, and willing to learn.  The firm is seeking an individual who is energetic, assertive, and polished. 
 
Qualifications include:
·      Strong written and oral communication skills
·      One to two years of experience working in a professional services environment or on the Hill
·      Bachelor’s degree
·      Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
·      Prior experience on the Hill is preferred
