The Technology & Engineering organization is comprised of the global engineering function, several focused centers of expertise, and our advanced Research & Development Facility – the Research Center. By combining a passion for science with precision engineering, we create smart, sustainable solutions that prove we can do the big things the right way.

The postdoctoral program is of limited length (1-2 years in duration). The program will build expertise and experience and make valuable professional connections in an industrial research and development environment through the Postdoctoral research program at the Raytheon Technologies Research Center.

Roles & Responsibilities
Electromagnetic and Network Systems Team at Raytheon Technologies Research Center is seeking a postdoctoral researcher who will join in a multidisciplinary team working in the research and development of optics/photonics and electromagnetic devices. The candidate is expected to work on transitioning novel concepts from early technology stages to a state that impacts and influences businesses and applications. Responsibilities include conception and design of novel optical and photonic devices, proof-of-concept demonstrations via simulation, fabrication, and experiments, preparation of internal and external research proposals, dissemination of research results through reports, conference proceedings, and peer-reviewed articles, and development of intellectual property.

Qualifications & Competencies
The preferred candidate should have a strong understanding of science and engineering principles and a record of innovation as evidenced by patent applications, contribution to government funded basic research programs, and/or high-quality journal and conference publications.
