Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, an independent not-for-profit research organization, is seeking an Accountant who will be responsible for various accounting and budgetary functions to join our team. 
  
 The successful candidate must be well organized, with attention to detail, and exceptional interpersonal skills. The candidate must have a dedication to meet deadlines. This person will report to the Comptroller and work closely with all departments within the organization to gather and report financial information. 
  
 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
 - Tracking company income and expense budgets. 
 - Preparing monthly account reconciliations. 
 - Preparing monthly journal entries. 
 - Preparing monthly departmental reports. 
 - Assisting in month-end close. 
 - Assisting with preparation of quarterly and year-end financial statements. 
 - Assisting with internal and external financial analysis and reporting. 
 - Assisting with the year-end audit and annual report.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. 
  
 Experience: 3-5 years accounting/auditing experience. Work within a not-for-profit is a plus. 
  
 Knowledge: Crystal Reports and Lawson Software knowledge is preferred. Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
