Facilities Service Coordinator

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is looking to hire a Facilities Service Coordinator into the Facilities department. This position will work with the Assistant Director of Engineering Services to manage buildings and equipment. This position will include some reception duties as well as handling work requests, emergency calls, and radio dispatches.   

Duties: 

-Keep equipment maintenance schedules

-Assist in preparing for emergencies through creating actions plans

-Involvement in planning for future building space and supply organizational needs 

-Daily communication with supply vendors and update company executives regularly 

-Monitor/maintain engineering Services work order system

- Monitor/maintain staff time sheets and time off 

-Maintain staff purchases orders research vendors, parts and equipment lead times, etc.

-Communicate MEP system shutdowns and service disruptions with lab community 

-Assist in developing spare parts/material inventory system

-Recordkeeping of refrigerant usage, cooling tower legionella testing and compliance, and biocide usage 

-Work closely with HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Equipment Services supervisors on day to day functions 

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferred background in Engineering

-Ability to stay organized 

-Strong multi-tasker

-Suitable in a fast-paced work environment
