Supply Chain Manager

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking applicants to fill the newly created Supply Chain Manager position. This individual will be responsible to institute and affirm overarching policies and procedure related to supply chain at SDL and coordinate supply chain related activities across the Lab. This position will be based in North Logan, UT, and report to the Director of Program Services.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate across the organization on supply chain related issues
  • Manage supplier relationships including assisting with quality and delivery issues, performing on-site supplier audits, updating approved supplier database and associated supplier questionnaire form
  • Establish supply chain continuity and disaster recovery plan to create a compliant and robust supply chain for critical components and services
  • Establish supply chain key performance indicators (KPI’s), monitor performance, develop escalation strategy
  • Chair the SDL Supply Chain Working Group
  • Support Targeted Small Business initiatives
  • Complete all government and industry requested supplier surveys and questionnaires
  • Oversee counterfeit detection, mitigation, and awareness program based on accepted aerospace industry standards
  • Coordinate and evaluate “demand forecasts” for parts and materials with program divisions and collaborate with purchasing and subcontracts to establish appropriate acquisition strategies and agreements to meet demands
  • Oversee and support data analytics to access the need for additional common stock parts for the Lab
  • Support engineering with a strategic and controlled approach for a preferred parts library
  • Facilitate DMSMS issues (diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages)
  • Identify, access, and mitigate pertinent supply chain-related risks and threats
  • Support existing SDL teams with storage and procurement guidelines which address compliance-related requirements/standards (Conflict Minerals, Buy-American Act, NIST 800-171, FAR, DFAR, ITAR, EAR, ESD, MSL J-STD-033, identification and traceability, etc.)
  • Support organization with inventory management issues as common stock needs evolve (shelf-life issues, GIDEP, resale/buy-back)
  • Create training material
  • Manage groups overhead budget
  • Potential to lead consolidated Supply Chain group and associated staff
 
Required Qualifications:
  • BS/BA in applicable field
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience
  • Understanding of DoD and NASA contracting requirements and general business concepts
  • Proven ability to tackle organizational wide initiatives in a collaborative and positive manner
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationship with leadership, peers, customers, and vendors, even during complex or challenging circumstances
  • Strong writing and analytical skills; excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills, personal motivation, and proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to present and promote a positive image of the organization
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred candidate would have 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Preferred candidate would have 5 years of supplier related work experience
  • Prior experience in research and development organizations or activities
  • Past exposure to electrical, mechanical, or software components/technology
  • Current TS/SCI preferred
