Quality Assurance Specialist

Wages: $17.50 – $22.50 DOE/E
 
Job description
This position is a member of the Quality Team and reports to the Quality Supervisor. The successful candidate will participate in creation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions, forms, logs, specifications, validations, MMRs, training presentations, and other QA document/record activities. Additionally, they will participate in continuous process improvements, updates and identifying gaps/deviations in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and the Quality Management System. As with all employees this person is responsible for:
·        Adhering to GMP and other safety regulations.
·        Follow all environmental, health and safety protocols.
·        Maintain work area in an acceptable and safe manner.
·        Raise any concerns regarding food quality and safety immediately and take appropriate actions.
 
Key Responsibilities
·        Ensure proper Document Management for site SOP’s, work instructions, logs and forms.
·        Prepare samples for shipment to third-party laboratories.
·        Assist in internal audits at the direction of the Internal Auditor.
·        Assist in sanitation activities at the direction of the Sanitation Lead.
·        Review and assess completeness of production records prior to scanning and filing.
·        Updating and maintaining quality data in LiquaDry systems.
·        Assist in Quality Team activities to ensure GMP compliance and audit readiness.
·        Conduct training as required.
·        Performing other duties assigned by supervisor.
 
Education and Experience
·        A combination of education and experience in a cGMP environment. Bachelor’s degree in food science, or related field preferred.
·        Knowledge of Food Safety Systems, to Include HACCP, Food Defense and/or Food Fraud.
·        Experience in or knowledge of manufacturing documentation or demonstrated experience in written communication and/or instruction.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
·        Knowledge of standard office practices.
·        Moderate to advanced computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, and database navigation).
·        Proficient in reading technical documents and identifying critical information.
·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
·        Must be detail oriented with good prioritization skills to complete tasks in a timely manner.
·        Able to communicate complex ideas in simple terms.
·        Able to adapt to dynamic situations to accomplish objectives.
·        Able to navigate safely in an industrial environment (e.g., ladders, stairs, stationary and moving industrial equipment).
·        Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
·        Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts and take calls after hours and during weekends.
·        Ability to behave in accordance with LiquaDry values.
