The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking applicants for an experienced Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) with an active Security Clearance to support new classified contracts awarded to SDL as well as provide support to current programs in Albuquerque, NM. Under direction of the Security Manager, this position primarily serves as the Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) for assigned Special Programs. The CPSO will support the management and execution of program security as it applies to program protection and industrial security oversight of program facilities/locations and personnel involved in the efforts.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Writing and updating security plans; SOPs, CONOPS, security protection plans, and transportation plans
  • Evaluate and implement security plans, program briefings. Review, interpret and maintain Security Classification Guides and Program Protection Plans
  • Establish and maintain liaison with government agencies, external customers, contractors, employees, and managers. Coordinate with government agencies to obtain rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations
  • Working directly with customers, prepare security clearance requests, submit external visit requests, process incoming visit requests and other duties as assigned by the Security Manager or Manager of assigned programs
  • Work with assigned program team to support program missions/goals
  • Perform Security audits/inspections to ensure compliance with government regulations, report all findings and corrective actions to SDL Leadership team
  • Administer and coordinate applicable aspects of security activities in accordance with company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal security regulations, directives, and manuals for safeguarding National Security Information. Perform other duties as assigned or required
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree AND 10 or more years of Security experience working as a CPSO with DoD or Intelligence Community customers (8 or more years with an MS degree). Equivalent and relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for education requirements
  • Must be a US citizen and hold an active Security Clearance with an in-scope background investigation (a current Top-Secret Clearance with Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) and Sensitive Compartmented Information Clearance (SCI) is preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of ICD 705, NISPOM, and 5205.07 DoD regulations
  • Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information to various audiences and all levels of the organization both verbally and through written communications
  • Strong working knowledgeable of basic software programs (ex. Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Takes ownership of assigned duties, is a self-starter and can work with limited supervision
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience writing CONOPS, security plans, transportation plans, and Security Operation Procedures
  • Comfortable developing and presenting training to employees
  • Able to work extended hours as needed to meet critical program deadlines
  • Willingness to mentor other entry level CPSO’s under the direction of the Security Manager
