Who we are
Double River Investments is a quantitatively driven investment company. We operate throughout the global markets in search of alpha. We also want to improve our world, and make impact/humanitarian investments in developing countries that help local communities.
Our team covers multiple disciplines from Computer Science and Mathematics to Econometrics and Statistics, with backgrounds ranging from years in the industry to current students. We work remote, cover multiple time zones, and love what we do. The Double River culture is all about trust, being curious, and working together.
Who you are
We think you are our new Algorithms Engineer to help us develop, test, and maintain strategies to guide our quantitative investing. You know that too, because you are:
- Independent self-starter, able to work without oversight
- Honest and trustworthy
- Experienced in Python and C++
- Able to translate strategies into highly performant code
You may also have some additional experience that makes you pretty amazing:
- Familiarity with distributed computing.
- Mathematical background, including linear algebra and multivariate calculus
- CUDA/GPU programming knowledge
- Experienced with Machine Learning techniques and frameworks (Deep Learning, Decision Trees, Transformers, Clustering Algorithms, etc.)

This position offers you the flexibility that comes with both remote and part-time work. You can be anywhere you want and fulfill this role in conjunction with school or another job. The workload will be up to 20 hours a week, and you can do it in a balanced manner over the week. We don’t want to stop there, though - the position has the potential to turn into a multi-year commitment with increased responsibilities and hours.
What you will do
As an Algorithms Engineer, you will work closely with the Systems Team to implement trading algorithms. You will be tasked with writing efficient python code to execute trading algorithms that help determine trading signals. You will work with the systems team to scale the algorithms and monitor the quality of the results.
