Accountant
Work Description: This position is well suited for an individual with an accounting or finance background who enjoys focusing on accounting or financial systems related functions. Examples of work activities include but are not limited to: developing and using complex database and spreadsheet applications; mining, analyzing and interpreting quantitative data from enterprise systems; developing system controls and improving system functionality, working cooperatively and communicating with a variety of groups or individuals in order to analyze revenue streams and report financial data. Must work well with various groups of employees in order to maintain quality performance and excellent customer service. Must be flexible in performing daily tasks and accept additional duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or other related field from an accredited four-year college or university
· Three (3) years’ experience in related field
· Strong communication, interpersonal, written, oral, and team skills
· Strong analytical and project management skills
· Ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner
· Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access
· Knowledge of relational databases with ability to write basic SQL statements
· Programming knowledge in Visual Basic or similar language
Physical Demands: Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and / or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications
· Advanced degree in business or information systems
· Five (5) years’ experience in a related field
· Programming experience and knowledge in the utility industry
· Experience and proficiency with PeopleSoft applications including FMS and CIS modules
· Ability to write efficient Oracle PL/SQL statements
· Proficiency in SQR for PeopleSoft
· Ability to demonstrate competencies such as: strong analytical skills, strong oral and written communication skills, leadership, coaching, and teamwork skills
