TYPICAL ASSIGNMENTS

* Creates accounting data, initiates corresponding journal entries, and enters into finance/accounting system

* Processes remote deposit and lockbox deposit transactions

* Reconciles accounting data including but not limited to, general ledger, vendor accounts, bank statements, and customer accounts on a periodic basis

* Verifies electronic fund transfers (EFT) totals and check issue totals with banking institutions

* Maintains call lists and aging reports for group billing accounts

* Creates miscellaneous invoices and maintains appropriate records

* Handles telephone and written inquires from internal and external sources

* Operates office equipment which may include personal computer, copier, fax, scanner, calculator
and adding machine, etc.

* Maintains related departmental records and files

* Verify validity of claim check spoils

* Processes personal overpayment and/or Delta returned checks from providers and/or subscribers

* Adjusts claims as necessary, including reversing, re-adding, and correcting

* Creates accounting data, initiates corresponding journal entries, and enters into finance/accounting system

Bidding Requirements:

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Bookkeeping/accounting course work to include the completion of Principles of Accounting or two
years work experience involving bookkeeping/accounting procedures including balancing and
reconciling

Successful completion of the Accounting Clerk assessment (passing score of 75% accuracy) within the past 12 months

Knowledge of personal computing and software applications through experience, coursework, or successful completion (80% accuracy) of applicable test administered by Human Resources including:

o Intermediate spreadsheet applications
