Limited Term - SOE Coordinator

General Summary:
Provides coordination and support for all aspects of the field experience to student success.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Sets-up, coordinates, and supports monitoring the completion of field experience, practice teaching, practicum, internship and admissions applications, and internship binders within Watermark-TK20.
  2. Creates field placements within Watermark-TK20. Create and maintain time logs for all clinical placements. Supports the use of Watermark-TK20 by activating student accounts. Implements applications, assessments and portfolios within Watermark-TK20. Provides first line technical support to students and faculty in their use of Watermark-TK20. Generates reports within Watermark-TK20 to inform the field experience office. Work with Watermark-TK20 support to resolve issues.
  3. Provides primary support for candidates (teacher, counseling, educational leadership, and reading) in completion of applications. Provides support to students in completion of required assessments and applications.
  4. Coordinates placement packets, creating digital placement packets to be shared with potential placement sites. Schedules, coordinates, and supports set up for introductory meetings at the beginning of the semester and action learning presentations at the conclusion of the semester.
  5. Prepares and facilitates the completion of contracts for mentors, clinical faculty, and lead clinical faculty as needed.
  6. Facilitate distribution of technology bundles and or video recording equipment to candidates completing clinical hours.
  7. Prepares agendas, schedules, and support materials for events sponsored by the Office of Field Experience. Schedules and coordinates placements for observations completed during the initial field experience within the teacher education programs.
  8. Documents and supports completion of background clearances by teacher education and counseling candidates.
  9. Coordinate the checkout of equipment owned by the SOE and housed by MTSs
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  1. Job Knowledge: Knowledge of the principles, practices, techniques, and methods of advising. Knowledge of the basic program content and requirements of degrees offered. Considerable knowledge of college readiness standards and initiatives. Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships. Ability to work independently with little to no supervision. Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed. Must have solid demonstrated knowledge of administrative functions. Must be knowledgeable of University policies. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Must be able to handle multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the University and community. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications.
  2. Working Conditions/Physical Demands (With or Without Accommodations): Normal office environment. May travel some within the community when needed. May be required to lift normal office equipment and materials. Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information. Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication. Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions. Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting. May be required to work additional hours or days depending on circumstances.

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
Associate’s degree in related field required. Experience in placing students in clinical settings preferred. Experience processing background checks preferred. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
