Job Summary
UNLV Information Technology is seeking a reliable, organized, and customer-focused student assistant to support daily front office operations in the Herman Westfall Building (HWB). This role serves as the first point of contact for visitors and provides front desk, shared space, administrative, and event support.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be a UNLV student
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable using Google Workspace tools
  • Organized, detail-oriented, creative, and able to follow written procedures
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with basic office equipment; willingness to learn new systems (e.g., AutoCrib)
  • Able to lift and carry 25 to 50 pounds as needed

 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HWB: greet visitors, manage phones/voicemail, and route requests to the IT Help Desk
  • Keep front desk and shared spaces ready for use: opening/closing, conference room resets, and general upkeep
  • Handle routine operations and tracking: mail/deliveries, supply restocking, facilities tickets, permits, and equipment checkout/inventory (AutoCrib)
  • Support IT administrative tasks and events: calendars/displays, basic document support, and event setup/cleanup

Work Hours / Availability Required

  • Must be available to work Mondays and Wednesdays between 12:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
