What I liked

It was the perfect job!! Flexible hours, incredible hourly pay, overall just an amazing experience.

What I wish was different

I wish there was more verticality in the workplace and also more room to pivot between specialities.

Advice

Ask and you will receive! I was offered $15/hour but I countered and received an offer for $18.25! Always ask for what you believe you’re worth, you never know what’s out there.

Marketing Intern

May 2019 • Baltimore, MD

What I liked

I liked the autonomy that the job offered for students that wanted to gain experience in the marketing industry. I was able to choose how much I wanted to learn and how far I wanted to take the job.

What I wish was different

The autonomy was difficult at first. It took me a couple weeks to adjust to doing work by myself.

Advice

Come into the job willing to learn more about the industry as well as consulting with people that are in higher positions than you are.

Finance Intern

June - September 2019 • Cupertino, CA

What I liked

I loved how much they let interns do real work that contributes to the whole team. The internship experience is very refined and exciting, inlcuding getting to meet all the executives and asking the CFO a personal question.

What I wish was different

I wish there was a better way to mingle with the fellow interns on a more regular basis.

Advice

Split your internship up into 3 parts: the first part, meet as many people as possible, learn all the context and background of your department. Second, refine your skills for yur weekly outputs and what is expected of you, and third, think of a new and unique way you can leave a lasting mark on your team, whether that be improving an outdated process, or adding a new tool that can imporve workflow. This part should expand beyond what is asked of you.
